Ying Jie Ong
Therapy Programme Lead
Ying Jie is an educational and developmental therapist, as well as the founder of Renewed Hope Education & Therapy. She began her journey 10 years ago as a tutor and social coach for neurotypical and neurodiverse students. She has a wealth of experience supporting students in both mainstream and special education settings, including Cleverland Tutorial Centre, JustEdu Student Care, The Early Intervention Centre and Connect and Communicate.
Ying Jie is passionate about supporting students in academic and social-emotional learning. This led her to pursue postgraduate training in educational therapy from Regent University and the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD). Over the years, she saw the need for an integrative approach towards academic and social-emotional learning, which is lacking in Singapore. She started Renewed Hope to promote an integrative learning approach and to help students achieve breakthroughs in their learning.

"If you love me, don't accept me as I am."
- Dr. Reuven Feuerstein

Inspired by the work of Dr. Reuven Feuerstein, Ying Jie believes that every student is capable of growth when given the right support. She celebrates her students for who they are but never accepts their limitations as they are. She spurs them on towards greater growth by working closely with their families.

Yvette was formerly a senior accountant. She spent 12 years in the corporate sector working for companies including ComfortDelgro and CapitaLand Financial Limited. When the calling of motherhood came, Yvette took a break from work and devoted 7 years to nurture her two daughters. During this time, she participated actively in youth ministry and served as a youth mentor.
Yvette saw the importance of a safe and conducive space to nurture children with full-time working parents. She also saw value in providing emotional coaching to children. This led her to join Ananias Student Care to gain experience and insight into student care operations. She also pursued training in emotional intelligence with the desire of helping children develop skills in emotional management. Yvette continues to equip herself with training in emotional intelligence. She also completed training as a social service assistant to better understand Singapore's social service framework and to improve her ability to render help.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
